About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Android Developer to join our team in building a cutting-edge medical application aimed at transforming patient care and healthcare workflows. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of mobile technology and healthcare innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a high-quality Android medical app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, backend developers, and healthcare professionals
- Ensure app reliability, performance, and responsiveness on a wide range of Android devices
- Integrate APIs and work with secure data storage, encryption, and health-related data handling
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with proper documentation
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and performance optimization
- Stay updated with the latest Android trends and best practices, such as clean code and MVVM architecture
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial Android development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin
- Proficiency in Jetpack Compose and modern Android app architecture (MVVM, Hilt, Coroutines)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, data persistence (Room, DataStore), and third-party libraries
- Knowledge of Google Play Store deployment and app lifecycle management
- Understanding of security best practices in mobile app development, especially for medical or sensitive data
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile team
Nice to Have:
- Experience working on healthcare/medical or wellness apps
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA or GDPR as they pertain to mobile applications
- Familiarity with tools like Firebase, Crashlytics, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise)

Interview Process:
- Stage 1 – Call with our Director who is well versed in the Mobile Development world (30 minutes)
- Stage 2 – Technical interview with live coding exercise (1.5 hours)
- Stage 3 – If successful then this will lead to a formal offer
Salary Expectations:
- In the region of £25,000-30,000 depending on experience
